For those who are interested in the bizarre but technical world of Diesel engines, the Diesel Bike Rally is taking place today and tomorrow (Saturday) at the Bat & Ball - see: DieselBike.net The Original Diesel Motorcycle website. (http://www.dieselbike.net/) --- if you are a Royal Enfield geek then you will like this.:p

I will try to go tomorrow morning if I can re-arrange previous plans.:60277EB7B04744289C0

I've finished my toast & Honey so I'll get the ole RK out, a quick check & I'm orft. Should be there by 11 ish, the Diesel Bike guys will be out on a ride so I think there will be time for a swift one :pepsi:(a pepsi of course as I am riding :169B9ADF431545348BC) and even a nibble :character00104: before they get back.

I am riding with a neighbour of mine who will be on his AJS so it will be a nice bimble along the 272. :60277EB7B04744289C0

This R80 had a SmartCar diesel engine --

It had to have the frame extended though!!!!

Also many for whom function is way more important than form

I did try to take a piccy from t'other side Phil but my phone storage was full. :frown:
It was a 'V' engine, probably started life attached to a pump or generator, the owner wasn't around to ask. I couldn't see any makers identification or indeed any bit that I recognised. As usual I had left my close up/reading glasses behind

There were so many 'engineering challenges' around that looked unfinished that I decided that, in the eyes of the owners, they were in fact ''''finished'''' and that the bits and pieces that looked as though they were temporary were in fact the equivalent of HD 'shiny bits' :D

There are any number of proprietary engines available from around the world Bob - the trick seems to be getting them to fit, and function.

I quite like this conversion of an MZ to diesel power ..

Or perhaps a Neander 1400 Turbo ... if you have a lot of money to spare ..
