I know it is only Jan but time seems to fly by nowadays, much faster than when I was a boy. I blame it on the telly :character00114:.

Le Weekend at 'Les Balls' will be over the weekend of Friday the 27th through Mon 30th May (Bank Hol w/e) so some thought must be made about what you plan to do. Some will want to go on the Friday and there will be some who will want to go on the Saturday -- some will come back on the Sunday, some on the Monday and maybe some will take the opportunityto stay on a few days afterwards (a great way to chill out and explore the French countryside - and bars).

It would therefore be useful to find out who will be doing what so as to help the undecided :francis:.

I am planning to go out on the Friday and back on the Monday as in the past years and will be checking the Dover/Calais Ferry costs as usual (usually catch the P&O ferry at 10:00ish after having a brekkie at the 4th Musketeer beforehand :character00104: )

Simples!

Sue and I would like Friday to Mon.

However, I would like to go out on Friday and never come back but I don't think I would get away with it!

I fancy going this year and I prefer Friday to Monday, but I need to check with Rachelle to see if she can get the time off.

I know someone has told me but as I have the attention span of a goldfish (that theorys discredited now so there is a chance for me..?) can you remind me where it is again.

also, as I have a long standing promise to visit our old tool hire officer (now living just above Bordeaux) but with the family, so can I ask is it a motorcycle only event?

It's an hour or so from Calais Paul ......

Take the bike Paul; wife on the back, child in each pannier and I'll lend you a luggage trailer ....sorted!

If you look in the Quin you will find full details Paul. It's very adjacent to the Circuit de Croix en Ternois where they hold many vintage bike racing events - superb fun.

Why not arrange a stopover at Paul & Sues to coincide with one of those weekends, spend all day Sunday drooling over some great machines and then go on to Bordeaux on the following day, treat your family to a week away --- it's about an 8 hour journey to Bordeaux so it might take you a week to get there

'Le Weekend' is very bike orientated - and food - and drink - and sex (ooops I shouldn't have written that as some may be luckier than others and can go without -- sometimes I dread these events taking place, so much is expected of you :o)

As there's a bit of enthusiasm for Le Weekend building up perhaps it might be wise to get a bit of practice in prior to the big event ....

Like where you're coming from Phil (previous post) and good idea Bob. Can you two talk to the missus for me?

(in a parallel universe I'd go on my own!) (have to put up a lot of shelves for that!)

Ok we'll do Friday to Monday, it's just I wanted to give myself an extra day to get over the micro brewery beer. Peaked too early last year and the world dropped out my bottom for two days - not pleasant for the people sharing my gite, so be warned!

Never mind Alan, we'll eat your share

I like the picture of the French cheeses - particularly the goats cheese shown at the top of the picture, Crottin de Champcol. In French, Crottin means 'horse shit', ---- enjoy your horse shit from Champcol

It's the Sussex chap from Norfolk, when you have an idea of your sailing times to France could you let me know? I may be coming down on the bike as Wayne might not be able to make it. I fully understand if you wish to give me the wrong date, sailing, ferry company etc!!
