Last night Old Bob reminded me about the diesel bike rally which takes place in West Sussex every year and asked if I'd heard anything. The answer was no, however I've tracked it down.

The Big Knock 2011.
Friday 3rd-Sat 4th June.
@ The Bat and Ball Pub.
Newpound.
Wisborough Green.
Billingshurst.
West Sussex.
RH14 0EH.

It's open for anyone to pop in and have a look at a variety of oil burning motorcycles.

Goodonya Phil, I shall probably go to this on the Saturday as the Friday is already booked for me :). The attendees usually go out for a ride in the morning so it gives time to have a look at those left on site and also a quick pint and a bite of lunch before the bulk arrive back.

me and a frend Dave went to to big diesel bike rally in Germany last year,
great engineering work on adapting engines into bikes , they use harley gearboxes on some of the builds .
Dave has now bought a diesel bike not fast but 150mpg

I don't think there were so many oil burners there this year, but those there had travelled from far and wide. Charlie was there doing justice to a platefull.

A good days biking around many lanes that I hadn't been down before and a good chat & a beer at the Bat & Ball.

Thanks for that Phil. That will teach me not to do the washing before I head out on a ride, Never know what may happen in the garage. Might get nabbed to do the ironing next. :D

I also met up with a couple of guys who were riding Triumph Tridents and during the conversation discovered that they had been in Scotland at the same time as Charlie & Co and were in the same area driving their Model 'T' Fords. Drawing Charlie into the conversation it appeared that he had probably seen these guys who also remarked that they had noted the Harleys. Small world innit. (Interestingly they had an event near Ben Nevis to commemorate the conquering of Ben Nevis 100 years ago by some daft bugger who did it in a Model T Ford : see Ben Nevis Facts (http://www.mountainwalk.co.uk/bennevisfacts.html)) :)

These two piccies specially for Simon
