I am planning a trip to the Fort Nelson Royal Armouries at Fareham, with stunning views over looking Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight.
The Fort has a lot to see and is very well presented, with a new cafe ( not a lot of hot food, jacket patatoes with differnt fillings and pannis or toasted sandwiches, on offer as yet, but that has only been open for 7 days ) Vast display of over 350 big guns and other displays.

Free admision

I am planning this ride for Sunday 04th September 2011

The ride to start from Shoreham airport car park leaving at 10.00hrs and aim to be at the Fort about 11.00hrs

It would be nice if we can get other regions to come too and again arrive at the same time at Fort Nelson.

Who would like to join us ?

Would like to come along but showing an interest has recently jinxed several of my intended trips. Will try to sneak up on it on the day!

Tim, can I meet you at the Texaco garage, west bound A27 carriageway, just after Stockbridge Chichester roundabout?
I can be there from 10:15 onwards and can just join in at the tail as you pass, of maybe you ride through the garage and pick me up on the way- up to you? What you reckon?
Or were you planning another route to get to the fort?

I would like to thank each and every one of you who came out for todays ride.
We met at the first stop of Shoreham airport with clouds building in the skies, but it did not deter the hearty few . Just prior to leaving to head towards Chichester to pick up PeteJ, a few drops of the wet stuff started to drop on and around us. The ride to Chichester was good and on the whole dry, then on we went towards Fort Nelson. As we approach Havant the air around us filled with tiny droplets of rain, more drizzle, but less than a mile later ...... lets just say last Fridays trip to Walesby seemed very simular lol. We pulled over so waterproofs could be put on before we continued on to the Fort. On arriving at the Fort it was a good site to see some Harleys parked up outside, belonging to some New Forest members, Bill, HeritageBob to name a couple, and Andy the tool man from London region. We already had Dave (and Jane) and Tony from London region ride with us from Shoreham, so an award should be presented for highest precentage turnout to the London region :D It was good to see fellow coaster Gary and Anne whom now live a few miles from the Fort.

I will not be held responsible to those rumours of 'fair weather riders' to a few :439::439::439:

The feed back from some of the guys and gals was good and they enjoyed the massive and well set out display by the museum, and the cafe did us proud i think.
