Just a quick post to say hello.

Well finally done it and posted off my full application having hung around and read various posts over the last year or so.

Been riding 20+ years and HDs last 7 years or so, (dedicated Sporty fan), current ride 05 XLR previous to that 1200s, so thought it was about time I joined up (OK maybe Im just a slow starter )

Live just outside Southampton so big hello to all from Region 19,originally from Hull.

Regards
Mark.

PS - Great site guys & gals ......... always informative and often makes me laugh

Hi Mark!

Are you the same Bursledon Mark who used to own a Guzzi V11?

If so, my girlfriend now owns your old bike which she bought from Eddys in Leeds.

regards

Guy

Re: Just a quick post to say hello.

Guy,

Now this is spooky! yes I am, its a bl*dy small world!

So hows it going ........ well I hope!

It was wierd cause in an impulsive moment I sold mt 1200s sporty and bought the V11 on the basis that when I was a kid in the 70s there was this guy down our street had an original le mans and I always thought it was the coolest thing ......... funny how these things stick with you!

It was a good ride ........ quirky .... but good, mind of its own half the time , but just missed the sporty too much, so struck a really good deal with Sam at Eddy's for a XLR and the rest is history.

I did smile when I read your introduction, cause I knew exactly where you were coming from.

Be good to catch up over a beer sometime.

Re: Just a quick post to say hello.

Hi Mark

I am glad to hear you are enjoying your XLR!

Helen rode your old Guzzi around Europe last year- we went to the Dutch Boxmeer rally, then down to the Black Forest and finally Northern France.

It ran like a dream after I fixed a problem with the starter circuit, but 2 miles away from the Rotterdam ferry the gearbox return spring broke leaving her stuck in 3rd gear- I can still smell that clutch after she screamed it up the 45 degree ramp onto the ferry! Luckily it was not too bad to fix when we got home.

Although I still love my Guzzis, I am really enjoying my Fatboy and have ridden it every week since I got it in late November apart from Xmas when I was snowed in.

See you around

Guy
