| tyres for me low rider... All is well (at the moment) with the FXS, touch wood. Put new thicker battery leads on instead of the flimsy bits of wire it had, and she starts like a good 'un! Got the original risers and bars back on, just looking for a standard gear linkage/pedal (have got the brake stuff) to rid myself of these forward controls... In the meanwhile, I went out today in the rain and sampled the delights of a rock hard prehistoric Avon SM rear tyre and an old Dunlop front. Great fun! can anyone tell me which is the best/stickiest/widest rubber I can fit on standard 16" and 19" cast wheels with standard guards? Cheers, Jon. |

| Re: tyres for me low rider... Jon. I run an '81 Wideglide Shovel and an '86 Evo Wideglide both on Avon's without any problems. The new Avon Venom X are the latest ones that I am using. When hot they stick to any thing... they use a little softer compound than other brands so wear a little quicker but not enough to be bothered about. |
