Shovelhead cables

I need a clutch cable & throttle cable for me shovel, trouble is i'm havin findin any in the lengths i need (allthough they don't seem that long to me) Does anyone know where i can get some made in braided? Or failing that, when you order some what measurements do you take? ie. length from nipple to nipple or just the outer? thanks

Re: Shovelhead cables

if you really wanna be a cheapskate....

for throttle go to Brit bike specialist and ask for oversize Doherty cables and the little screw-on nipples. Add a dash of solder for security. Done this with my 18in apes for years - total cost less than £20 as against £70 from CCI etc for really long ones

for clutch you are sort of tied to the aftermarket. all the big catalogues do over-size. just use string to mimic the angle of the dangle for measuring length...

Re: Shovelhead cables

nipple to nipple is fine........and you have an inch or three to ''play with'' through various routings around tank/s and frame, plus the adjuster
