Smile new user (HD owner)

Hi people,
Names Andrew, partner Lynn, just bought a 2004 Sportster 883 from Shaws in Hailsham (traded in Ducati 749). First Harley owned, rode a Springer Softail awhile ago and nearly died due to the fact it wouldn't go round a corner. Looking forward to meeting up and ride outs, I live near Brands Hatch and have garage/room space if someone gets stranded in this area (you'll have to share garage with Moto Guzzi California and Virago). Anybody visit the Oakdene Cafe in Wrotham? Want to ask loads of questions about the bike eg do you have to set a stopwatch everytime you use the choke (enrichener)? and what is so special about Harley oil, and whats with the giant owners manual which contains almost no useful information at all!! Perhaps I'll post technical questions in the appropriate place - er, where is that exactly?

Cheers

Re: new user (HD owner)

Welcome to the site, all the questions you want answering put them in the technical section...but one i can answer..the oil, the only thing special about it is the price, there are better oils out there.

you need a WORKSHOP manual, if you want any usefull info, Harley would prefer to charge you to go to them rather than diy you see.;)

feel free to put questions on the tech pages, if no one knows the answer, its probably not worth knowing, there are some very wise and clever and above all helpfull people there.

ps...anything you might want to know about back support ask me

Or contraptions which are actually girdles, but are disguised to give another impression. ;)

For general questions (oil, etc.), post in the Virtual Rally section. For model-specific questions (ie, Sportster), post in the Evo-Sportster section.
