Re: So did anybody get back from France?

Well we had a lot less rain over there than you did over here, but twas *kin windy.

Ride-out was brilliant again, even did a few laps around a local race track. Not quite so much entertainment as last year i.e. no farmer bashing or riders throwing themselves up the road, thankfully.

Best part was the crack, we ate a lot, drank lots of wine, took the piss and laughed and laughed, Tango helped by doing her usual 'entertain the troops' bit.

We got the Coasters in the local rag and taught them a bit of cockney slang in the process. Before the ride-out the subject of how to greet the French was lightheartedly discussed, after considering a few suggestions I offered 'Wotcha Cock' as an expression that might cause a bit of surprise, Sue decided to mention this to the reporter and there we have it, in print.

Name: Coasters.jpg

Translation (thanks to Sue): On the Fringe of the bike meeting, we once again welcome this year a group from across the channel and can admire there magnificent Harley's. Two pages in a local English paper on the first rally last year (they mean the Quin) merits a little photo for this years gathering. With a "Wotcha Cock" (salut mon pote) to the Sussex Coasters, who have enthusiastically come along in the spirit of friendship. Sue & Paul have well earned the prize for integrating in the village.

Will be definitely be doing this one again next year, thats for sure ;)

Re: So did anybody get back from France?

Janes first long ride on the back, in very windy conditions, ( about 380 miles in all) was ended with "don't ever let me talk you into letting me go on another ride like that again" with tears streaming down her face.
Arse ache, knees ache, neck ache, belly ache (too much laughing) but other than that she enjoyed it really
A great week-end with good food, wine and company. Riding in France is so easy with roads as empty as ours 40 years ago. As for the ride out, next year we want to be marshalls. It seems in France, if you wear a high visibilty vest, you can ride like a maniac and get away with it.
Yes you've guessed, she is planning coming again next year .

A VERY BIG THANKS TO PAUL AND SUE FOR PUTTING UP WITH US ALL.

See you all soon. (between the buliding work)
Ken and Jane
