In the meantime, so i am armed with the info and can hit the ground running. Can anybody advise me on removing the (panhead) oil seal on the main drive shaft. My workshop manual suggests a special tool, do i need one??? naaa you guys have a cheap and easy way dont you?

Phone Andy Brown (Tool Hire Officer) number's in the Quin. I'm pretty sure he's got the tool for that job, and if I remember rightly he speaks Panhead too so will be able to give you guidance.

PS Great to see you at Mallory last weekend! Excellent night with usual suspects, pics to follow!

Yeah,

Mallory Park was great, but, Kev, in your haste to go to bed early, you missed Stavros, the -maybe- Kurdish/Greek/Eastern??? refugee??? and his one of a kind life philosophy... his views on British women shouldn't be aired here, neither his get rich policies!!!... As for his attitude towards his paying customers, better leave it at that... Still, a good laught at one a.m. and we kept buying cups of tea...

Patrick
