What software?

Hi, I've recently been on my hols and got some pretty good stuff on my cam corder. I can get it onto my PC alright using a new USB hard drive, but I need some good recommendations for an editing program. I need to be able to remove some of my talking and some visual parts without losing anything else. I wasn't aware of it at the time, but it contains more than a few choice words, and I want to clean it all up so that I can show it to the Mother in Law...Grand kids etc.

Any help please.

Brian.

Re: What software?

I use Pinnacle Studio .Not an expert on these things ,and I must admit its been over a year since I last used it .There may be better programs out there.
I know you can definitely edit the sound , and you can of course do the same with the video. Its got a good feature(or rather I think its good) where you can create a music video. It takes your video and edits it according to the style of

Re: What software?

If you just want mask all of the original soundtrack with some music say, you can do this in Windows Movie Maker that comes free with any version of XP. You can also chop out complete scenes, rearange them or whatever.

Re: What software?

both answers are correct, windows movie maker is fine lets you most of the things you would want to.
however you might want to burn it to a DVD? then you will need a burning program such as pinnacle is.
pinnacle is realively easy to use, more sophisticated than windows but does the job.
but it isnt cheap.

Re: What software?

I use mpeg video wizard (to edit mpegs of course)
Magix Movie edit for any other ie AVI, WMV and the rest. It has a load of other stuff going for it like special effects, putting stills in a movie. You can edit out your recorded sound track and put any other in to suit yourself. I done my St Tropez DVD using this and it come out pretty good.

Cyberlink power producer for making real fast DVD's. No trouble at all works like a dream.
When you make a DVD from any of the compressed formats ie. AVI, DIVX, WMV, you never know how big they will be in DVD format. Cyberlink allows you to make the DVD files to your hard drive. You can then check they will fit and burn to DVD.
If they are to big i use DVD shrink to reduce them to fit a DVD.

Same goes as in the past mate ;);)
