Is It Time For A Move?

Well it seems that the White Hart may not be all we had hoped for. a decent enough pub, but are we welcome?
pool players dont particularily like us, the neighbours dont, the landlord has made no attempt to welcome us.

TIME FOR A MOVE?

It has been suggested that the white swan at torksey may make us welcome if the lass fron the white hart gets it, also a pub at wragby has asked if we would be interested.

do we want a pub in the north of the region, are we going to use two pubs on alternate meets.
Suggestions please.

mind you you could all come to my local, where you would be very welcome.....but its in yorkshire

Re: Is It Time For A Move?

Gosh how controversial

Yes I think that it's time to move - again, but like the man says, where too?

Personally I'm all in favour of the Turner Arms at Wagby, as it's only 15 miles from me. But I don't mind travelling and the White Swan is an easy ride/drive.
I can't recommend any of the pubs in my area as they would be too far away for most of you to get to on a regular basis.
So somewhere central is best and not necessarily within 5 miles of Lincoln

And remember we are the Lincolnshire region and Woodhall Spa is the geographical centre of Lincolnshire

Seems to me that if the landlord isn't particularly interested in our business then there is little point in going there anymore. If there is the possibility of another pub that will make us welcome then it's time to move. At least if you're at a pub that actually encourages you to be there then there is the chance that they may be encouraged to support in some way with regards functions etc.
Perhaps we should put the pubs on a trial basis and see who comes up with the goods, free ale would be a good starter

Can't really think of any near me either as I don't use them but would be happy to give wragby a try, especially if they have actively sought out our custom and therefore must know what they are letting themselves in for

Re: Is It Time For A Move?

Here's a thought, why don't we find a Pub as a base for the winter months and just rotate pubs, as per bike nights May to September

If every member checks out the pubs in their area and picks one that is Ok with the idea with a handful of Harleys turning up now and then on a Tuesday. Then we work out a schedule as to which one we go to and on what date (yeh a bit of planning required here!) then hey presto we have our own bike nights, and if we publicise it in the "Quinn" and on the websites we all frequent then we can move location around the county, pulling in members who won't travel North of Sleaford or South of Gainsborough and having some good rides at the same time.

Now this is going to require some commitment from us all, bit it might just work ;)

What do you think

Sounds good to me, but then I enjoy riding my bikes even when they are being naughty.

Thumbs up Re: Is It Time For A Move?

Yeh, sounds like a good idea to me. I'm pretty sure the "Bridge" and the "Sun" at Saxilby will be up for it, and also the "Red Lion" at Sturton by Stow. It's just a shame that I'll have to frequent lots of local hostelries now to see if they are into it.

There is also the Anchor Inn at Friskney, a well known Biker pub between Boston & Wainfleet, they also cater for small rallies - something to think about for the future.

Im pretty sure the bridge at saxilby WONT make us welcome, it was the lack of welcome there that made us move in the first place

You sound to me like someone who supports that granny stabbin' bin dippin' never never stop thievin' red team ;)

You forgot to mention the Anglers as well !!! How about the halfway house on the a46 ? how about the old union ?..........not

Spen and I came up with the idea of all following Alf and the sportster from the top of Lindum Hill and the meeting place would be where they both came to rest. That'll be Brighton seafront then !!!!

Full tank of fuel for tomorrow then by the looks of it

Re: Is It Time For A Move?

Yeh, stole one piece of Silverware already this year! Candy off a baby!

I think the pub has changed hands since then Natrasleep, I go in quite regularly, and the owner is always asking about the bike, I think he rides a bit himself (a plastic though admittedly) Seem quite biker friendly (and with good ale on!) Probably pop in this week and suss them out.
