Corbin Gunfighter Seat

I have a corbin 'gunfighter' seat on my softail. It's lovely, it's comfy, but I want a new paintjob and the colour I have in mind would clash somewhat with the inset flames on the seat. Has anyone had any success with dye (bearing in mind the back bit of the seat where the flamey bits are is vinyl) or am I better off just getting the back bit recovered?

They do stuff for recolouring car interiors but say it's weather proof.It comes in basic colours or matched about £28 a can.
You could cut a sample from a mag or paint colour chart or even blag a swotch(sp?) from DFS.
Give them a ring,I've had some good gear from them over the years.

Three months later, I've finally got around to ordering up the stuff and spraying it on. Looks great so far. Thanks for the help.
