Batterys holding a charge

Had to charge my Battery (it's of my 75 FL) My question is after charging my meter reads 12.7 then after 24 hrs or so it drops down to about 12.5 or 12.6 ,in my little book it states that it should hold 12.7 and if it reads 12.5 it is only half charged ,but my Bat has always held 12.5 so is this correct ?

Re: Batterys holding a charge

if you havent got a kicker, 12.5 is marginal for starting.

probably only about 60% charge

Voltage is a tricky bastard - if 12.9V is 100%, 6.5V is ***NOT**** 50%.

Also, when you turn the key on, the voltage drops further....0.5 volts usually.....

You really are pushing now.

get it on the Optimate, or similar TRICKLE, charger for a 2-3 days and try to recover it further.

If not, you might have to shell out.
