New Computor

Have just bought a new computer from Dell. It's being delivered next week and the question I want to ask is which browser do you use to connect to the internet? I've always used AOL, but I know lots of people don't rate it and I'd like to try something else. We have broadband.

Re: New Computor

I still use AOL cause it,s simple, but you can easily use Internet explorer as well even if AOL is your provider, just have a play, by the way if you have been with AOL for 10 months plus you can contact AOL customer services and ask for a wireless jobby for nowt! and they may even reduce your monthly bill, mine went from £17.99 a month to £14.99 a month and I got a brand new Thompson speedtouch for nowt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! works great! (by the way just ignore the AOL instructions and simply switch it on, your computer will do the rest ;) )

Re: New Computor

Uggy you me and essjay are the only AOL customers left in the UK...LOL

But it's not a problem. Your PC will automatically load AOL front page, then you will see and hear if you have/get emails.

Then use Internet Explorer 6, I have heard 7 can be a pain.

Go to your START >>>> All Programmes section >>>> Internet Options.....and get this picture below up: and put http://www.harley-davidson-hangout.com/
into the top address box as shown below. So whenever you click onto Internet Explorer this site comes up. Or any that you want for your home page.

Uggy.........

If you do go for Mozilla Firefox don't go for the with toolbar and as your home page as I said choose your own.

go here for Download Firefox - Free 2.0 for Windows, English (British) (5.6MB)

a good choice and preferred by many.

Good choice but V 2.0 seems to be a little odd at present. Been using it for a few weeks and it has a few peculiarities with tabbed browsing and window size. Great browser though.

Apologies! I'm talking out my a*se. I meant Bookmarks.
I'm going to try a re-install as it's frustrating trying to set Bookmarks and it takes three attempts.

Re: New Computor

Just get the web page you want and click on bookmarks and click at the top that will save it. You can have as many as you want like the favourites feature in IE

try bookmarking something to a particular folder, does it let you?
When I try it I end up with bookmarks without titles
