If you wanna have a go

Now then all you budding custom painters.

Here's some tips on stuff to get if you are just starting out like me !!!!

Got my compressor from Netto - £50.00

This is the Mini Jet - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MINI-JET-GRAVI...QQcmdZViewItem

This is the regulator/filter - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AIR-FILTER-REG...QQcmdZViewItem

You will then need to get some hose and fittings from Machine Mart or somewhere ????

On the airbrush side

Airbrush - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PRECISION-AIRB...QQcmdZViewItem

Hose - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRAIDED-AIR-LI...QQcmdZViewItem

Spare Bottles - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AIRBRUSH-BOTTL...QQcmdZViewItem

I use AutoAir Colors paint, which is non toxic water based - so you can paint it anywhere.

Airbrush needs to 0.5mm setup for AutoAir paints - this is the only cheap one of 0.5mm I could find - Iwata copy - works for me !!!!!

Paint from - http://www.custompaintshop.co.uk/shop/home.php - Del is a great guy - will give you loads of help !!!!

Clear coat needs to be NON Iscocyante - Iso's will KILL you if you don’t have the proper booth etc - you can always contact a local body shop for clearing !!!

Register for this forum - http://www.custompaintshop.co.uk/phpBB/phpBB2/ You will get loads of advice from here !!!!!

Did a course with this guy (Which Del from CustomPaintShop runs) last month - http://www.smdesigns.co.uk/ cost a packet but well worth it.

Here's a test tank I did all with the mini jet gun - no airbrushing.

Hope this helps those who want to paint their bike.

Cheers for now

DrT

HOLY MERDE!

Is that tank your first venture?

Very tastefully done, and unique.

You have my respect.

Re: If you wanna have a go

Bear - this is the first test tank I did - gonna try rivetted panels with a pinup next - you know like the second WW bombers - will post some pics when it's done.

Veggie - the guitar is a 335 dot but also have a Strat and a Gretch among other things.

Harry - this was all done in the garage with a spray gun - including the pin stripes - moving into the spare room for the winter for airbrush practice so I built this mini booth - could do a "how to" if anyone is interested.

Tony - F*(k off and stop taking the p155
