As it was my idea i suppose i better post!

Hi all, well here we are a custom zone on the riders club site, top stuff

Anyway heres the latest project from me, started life as a mates 883 100th special edition sporty flattracker, basically taken the motor out and started from scratch again,
Spec as follows
Motor is now a 1200 (was done before i started)
230 section tyre on a american wire 15x7 80 spoke wheel
custom made frame by CCD
single down tube 38 degrees in the headstock 5 in the trees
2" stretch in the backbone down 1" in the downtube
Drop seat frame
softail Stock length billet forks with 5 degree billet wide glide trees and a blind top yoke
80 spoke 21" wheel with a skinny tyre
Performance machine forwards
BDL billet hand controls
custom made battery box, oil bag, seat pan etc
rear fender cut and shaped
tank cut and shaped

Nice It is good to see the sportster motor being used in a custom.

well sorted neil ,where are u going to position the batery ,is that one of the oil tanks with the cut out for battery ,or are u gonni hang it off the side?

Dan,
Battery is mounted under the frame, se the fifth picture, as the seat rail drops so heavily there is nowhere else to mount it. Oil tank is custom made just over 3 quarts

seen that m8, i take it its a gel battery ,to lay it down flat, what size of battery dimension wise will cope and give u correct output

Dan,
Its actually a stock softail battery, its gel already, i believe the sportster battery is the same as well, or at least mine is. as the battery i bought is exactly the same as the one i already had!

well the frame and a couple of ancillarys went off to paint today, should be back by the end of the week and then its time to start putting it back together, electrics are gonna take a while as i am using the stock loom but heavily modifying it, seems a waste not to use it!

cant wait to see the frame with colour on it, will post pics when it comes back
