Past couple of projects Just a bit of history really, here some pics of the last 2 bikes i built, both around the same motor, the red one was first bought as a box of bits with the motor and frame and went from there, second one used the motor and gearbox, re-built the motor with a S&S 84" stroker kit and averything else was new ![]() ![]()

Re: Past couple of projects Nice bikes mate, that rear brake looks cool on the black one, but doesn't it get all the crap off the chain onto the pads,or am i being to practical and missing the point, i'm definitely not being critical tho. Ok! you can finish your cornflakes now chill

Re: Past couple of projects Chilly, Yep youre right, its a tolle set up, not cheap but look real cool, can honesly say wont be using one again, the brake worked sufficiently but not well!!! Dan Indeed the frame was built around a BSA plunger rear end apparently, frame was built back in the early 80's then the guy didnt know how to put it together 20 odd years later and i came along and bit his arm off for it, sold the roller to a mates dad who has it sitting in his garage waiting for a motor to put in it! as for the painted motor, it looked great but didnt work very well, the rocker boxes were powder coated and tended to get real hot! Loved the bobber to bits, looked great rode really well but had so many problems with the primary and gearbox that it gave me the hump and i lost all interest in it, cant see the point of a killer looking bike if it aint reliable! So thats why i moved onto a more modern engine. Will Build another big twin bobber i think but this time with a modern motor and a 5 speed box!

Re: Past couple of projects Dave, they are clevis type mounting floorboards, they were a bit of an afterthought to be honest and didnt stay on long as the ground clearance with them on was even worse! Got them from CCI could adjust both height, angle and fore and aft Part number 26568 if thats any help cheers Neil

Re: Past couple of projects Thanks all, loved the red one myself as it was the first bike i ever built from the ground up, the major problems with it was that the fuel tank would hold about £11 but you couldnt fill it all the way up because of the mounting angle and where the fuel cap was, if you did it just pissed out everywhere! also the rear plunger unit was really strange to ride with made it more uncomfortable than a hardtail with a sprung seat!
