| system restore was sorting out a problem with me mates pc and ran him through system restore over the phone but he couldn't go back further than november 3 so checked my pc and its the same. all thats recorded on that day is a system checkpoint and 2 windows checkpoints,any one else got this problem and whats it all about

| Re: system restore Just checked mine ,and its the same. Never used it though.Are you just asking out of curiosity though, would you want to go back nearly 2 months??

| Re: system restore System restore takes up a lot of hard drive space(usually determined by the system defaults,- dependent on the size of the hard discs), so it overwrites the older restore points with the new ones. You can set the space allocated for system restore to a higher level (via the advanced settings in the control panel).- but you should never really need to reset the system that far back in time. System restore can take up to 15% of each hard disks space according to Microsoft help files. Last edited by SX 150; 30-12-2006 at 12:49 PM. |

| Re: system restore i,ve never needed to go back that far but there was always the option but now there isn't, just wanted to know if it was the same on all pc,s thanks guys
