Stripped Bike Down.

Took me 4 hours to get from this with shinning paint and fully running..........

To this with nitromored tins and motor with no top end, and awaiting parts.....

The learning curve for the paint going to be pretty steep,- but all being well it 'ill be back up and running by mid February. In nice new 2k jet black with pearl red ghost flames.
Plan B,- Just in-case my paint learning skills don't take of as planned,- is a quick Exile satin paint job.

I used "cool it" exhaust wrap- got it on e-bay, I used 1" wrap as I found that the 2" stuff that is available didn't go around bends to good,
Don't use the "snap clamps" you can get, I found they didn't tie the ends down tight enough, jubilee clamps seemed much stronger and neater.
I've found after doing a couple of bikes its best to soak the tape in hot water for a few minutes before wrapping it, it stops to much itchy dust coming of, & makes the wrap more pliable,- I clamped the exhaust to a bench and wrapped the tape pulling with all my strength every pull and temporary clamping every 10 binds or so, in case you have to go back to get a even wind.
I found you need 24 feet of 1" wrap for every 4 foot of 2" pipe.
Hope this helps.

Yes Chilly its a Speed Triple, for when the H-D just won't cut it,- Under seat pipes, reprofiled heads, oversize throttle body's, with completely reprogrammable ECU,- and the old 595 shape, in the best S3 colour. I possibly love this bike more than the H-D.

Re: Stripped Bike Down.

Great bikes mate,i had one for a while, lovely motor without the mods you have done, would think thats a pretty strong motor now , i would have lost me licence or my life tho ,i just couldn't stop going balls out on it .Great colour, couldn't get it when i had mine so it had to be black, those pipes look good as well, reckon ole Moley will be envious of them .

Chill
