New Scottish Region?

Hi all,

Not certain if this is the right place for this, but I'm sure you will let me know if it isn't...

Anyway there are a number of Harley Riders in the North and Far north of Scotland (Eg Inverness area and Northwards) who are very interested in starting up a Club (pref as part of the HDRCGB) for arranging Runs, Meets etc.

I am aware of the meetings at Oldmeldrum and I haven't had the opportunity to be there yet, but for quite a few of the guys and gals here it wouldn't be feasible due to the time of return (eg if the meeting finished in Oldmeldrum at 9.30 ish then it would be well after midnight before they got home and many have kids and other responsibilities so leaving them for too long can be difficult.

Your thoughts and ideas on this subject would be greatly appreciated and I will pass them on to the people interested. (I have already got 1 to join the club and I will be pushing for us all to become members) The bikes are varied from Sporties to an EG with a good mix of everything in between and we are all passionate HD fans, with a combined riding experience of a few hundred years (From that you can gather aint none of us youngsters!! )

Cheers Bill.

Quite happy to go anywhere... We don't get invited much since the last incident... but the Police have removed the tracker tags now so we are all ready to go....

Only kidding... We're all too old to get into trouble now...

Bill the way forward is to have one of you up there to become an assistant rep to Blackadder and have your own meet time and place. In the summer all the region can meet up at either of your meets or 1/2 way for a equal ride and of course at rallies.

A region can have as many assistant reps as they require. It works well in the larger regions. We are ALL just one club 60 years of history and the regions run themselves.

You have your own shared rally at Langholm at the end of June.

Where you say

If you meant actually joining the club or joining the site users here.......
if you have your membership card can you, and tell others to put their card number details in >>Edit Profile
and let me or Roger know and your status will go to 'Club Member'

Also Bill being a member of HDRCGB enables you to discounts at all the clubs rallies and those of the Federation of Europe.

Any other questions about becoming assistant rep you can email or phone Eddie Mason (rep's liaison officer) see page 3 in the quin.

Hope this answer is of use and that you and your mates go for it.

Many thanks, that lets me know exactly what's required. I will get in touch with blackadder and arrange things accordingly.

I will join the Club this week and hopefully get the rest of the gang to follow suit. Many thanks for that explanation and details a great help.

Cheers Bill.

Re: New Scottish Region?

Yo Kiltbill

I have tried for the last 2 years to organise runs and meets in the Inverness Area. MayDay 2005 was a good run - 23 bikes and 28 people including pillions. This slowly dwindled down until around 6 or 7 diehards remain, although others claim to still be interested. Wednesday Nights and Sundays are when we Ride. However - Apathy Rules, and at this rate I may change my name to "The Lone Rider" . I have a site where runs are posted www.pmadata.com/highlandharley/ which I am about to update for 2007. I am interested in the reply from BAZA and if you do make approaches to BLACKADDER then I would be intersted in any runs or meets you may come up with. I can be contacted either through my site or on 07841 921 582 (if I remember to switch it on, or I can get my helmet off in time to answer!!!)

good looking web page >>>

So why don't you post your meets etc in this section as well now and all get together, that should work.

Don't forget the two regions rally at the end of June. See threads 2nd Reivers Rally.
