I am about to fit some Vance and Hines oval slip ons to my 2009 flht standard glide, I will fit a K&N filter and a Power Commander later.

Has any one fitted and Active valve trick box from Zodiac like this

V-Twin Mania - Genuine Harley Davidson parts and accessories, Kuryakyn, Vance & Hines, Custom Chrome, Zodiac and many more... (http://www.vtwinmania.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1203)

Are they any good and are they worth spending £80 on, I have read in other posts that some have wired up the valve in the open position and fitted the plug in to trick the ecu.

Which is the best option ?

Hi everyone,

new to the forum, had my Softail Heritage (2004) about 7 weeks now..brilliant as you all know.

Anyway, I would like to fit a Rev Counter as I do like to see what Revs I'm pulling. I find on my sports bike I use for commuting I use the rev counter more that I do the Speedo.

Anyone out there ever fitted a Rev counter, and if so what did you fit and how?

I'm also looking at electrical counters which may be easier to fit (?)

Mechanics not a problem for me. Your help appreciated.

Just thought that I would pop this in.

As part of a winter service, I popped off the cam cover to check the tensioners.

I had 25,000 miles on them.

When I put the cams in I used some tensioners that I had lying around in my toolbox. They were off one of the first 99 Twin Cams.

After 25,000 miles they looked like they were installed yesterday. Not just not worn much, no evidence of any wear whatsoever.

Goes to show that the theory was good, but that Harley after a short while just cheaped out with poor material & preparation:mad:.

Hi

I need to pick some brains here!

I am in the unusual position of having some spare cash to blow on my bike (2003 Ultra). I am thinking of a 103 conversion, but nobody seems able to tell me what the real benefit is. I assume the acceleration would be improved, but without a gearing change the revs at any given road speed are the same.

Would I get a better result (ie lower revs for any given road speed with a corresponding improvement in fuel consumption) if I added a (higher) 6th gear?

I dont care about a higher overall speed, just an improved acceleration up to 80mph or so and maybe a bit more range from the tank, spending a small fortune for bragging rights does not appeal!

Hi

My new part has arrived today (many thanks to Fatboyzdiner) and after having read the instructions I see to have a vital component missing i.e. a road king factory manual!! :frown:

So, could anyone supply me with the following info (an idiots guide with pictures is always good :D)

1. removal of stock right swingarm mount
2. torque values for to attach new version (should be same as stock)
3. torque values for bolts on transmission pan
4. how do you verify vehicle alignment?? and if not aligned, what the hell do you do?

As always, very grateful for any info recieved. Please feel free to offer any hints and tips above and beyond what i'm asking, save me get snagged up mid fit!!:439:

Cheers
