Having a good time, weather in the 80's, they say we may get a cloud on saturday, looking forward to that if it happens.
Well, what a holiday, saw the space shuttle take off from Titusville, the closest you can get to NASA without being there, it was AWESOME!! whilst cruising around in the car listening to the radio it just so happens that one of the greatest bands in the world is playing a gig in a stadium half an hours drive away from us, yes we're going to see AC/DC on Thursday, AWESOME!!

Love to you all, glad you all not here

Hi all,

Just bought my first Harley - a new Iron 883. Have ridden borrowed Harleys in the past for varying lengths of time and always knew I would own one someday. I've only put 100 miles on this 'un so far due to illness but it's a fantastic, charismatic ride (though I'll have to sort those front forks out, they bottom far too easily).

I'm 50, have ridden legally for 35 years, illegally a lot longer! Was heavily involved in the, er, "alternative" bike scene in the late 70's but have ridden pretty much solo since, so glad to be a club member. I do around 10,000 miles a year and maintain my own bike.

I'm based near Reading, Berkshire but call north Devon home (near Bradworthy), so will try to make it to some Devon meets.

By the way...I'm probably the UK's largest Sportster owner at 6ft 8ins tall and a fairy-like 135kgs/290-odd Lbs. Yes, I can ride it with the central pegs but I have a set of forward controls to try. I've also acquired a Sundowner seat for the poor old ars* which will raise me up a bit too (maybe). So lots of money and/or time to spend on it yet!

Cheers to all, PROPER!

Left grey skies in Exeter and went down to the Grand at Paignton yesterday morning. Got as far as Penn Inn and found the road closed. So went off via Totnes. Good and sunny in Paignton, met up with JJ, Jof & co, limited myself to a coffee in expectation of a lunch at Prewley, despite being offered mountains of toast and watching everyone eat a brill breaky. Headed off via Totnes again and went up through Bovey and Moretonhampstead. Lovely ride upto Okehampton. Got to Prewley, took my gear off, only to discover it was closed for refurbishment. Rang a few people but no answer (obviosly stuffing their faces with a lovely roast somewhere). Went off to Crossways to see if anyone there but no bikes or landrovers so rode home via Bow and Crediton. Great ride on lovely quiet roads, just a pity there was no food involved. :60277EB7B04744289C0

Hi I'm getting back into bikes after a 22 year gap , my last bike was an RD 350 ypvs , my wife is going to buy a harley for my 40th which is next year, so I'm doing a bit of research ready for it ! Do the price of bikes really go up in the summer ? I fancy a 1200 sportster, i took one out last week from bridge in exeter and loved it but it was £6200 so a little out of my price range, I'm looking at older models but is there a real difference with the pre 2004 bikes without the rubber engine mounts , many thanks sorry about all waffle

there's a charity theme night at the Parkers Arms in Paignton on Saturday 21st November. It's for Cancer Research. There will be quite a few acts on during the evening and I believe there are two bands booked as well . . one of which will be Neil's and my band. We'll be playing for about an hour. There will also be solo singers too etc etc.

Tickets are £4.50 for the whole evening and it's supposed to be themed . . Vicars and Tarts . . so fancy dress is essential ! :)

I think you can pay on the door on the night, but I'll let you know when I have more details.

All for a good cause, so hopefully we'll see a few of you there for a good night :60277EB7B04744289C0

More details will be added as soon as the organisers let me know.

Hi Everyone :)

The Christmas Party for the South Devon area will be at The Parkers Arms in Paignton again. Saturday 19th December at 7.30pm

I've still got to sort out with the Pub and Paul if we can arrange a disco like last year, but I'm not intending on doing a raffle.

They're keeping the cost the same as last year . . it's £15.00 per adult and £10.95 per child.

I've listed the menu choices . . please decide what you want and let me know as soon as you can . . they also require a deposit of £10 each at the beginning of December . . so I need your money in during November.

Aperitif: Mulled Wine

Starters: Homemade soup & crusty bread, Prawn cocktail & brown bread, Creamy garlic mushrooms (with brandy sauce and crusty bread), Smoked salmon & prawn terrine with Melba toast.

For those that didn't come to last year's do . . . we had a fabulous time and the food was excellent. So let me know asap if you fancy sharing the festivities and a few beers !
