Without prejudice.
I have been a member of several clubs over the years and have also been chairman and now president of a local motor club. I have often hear members moaning about the way clubs are run, to which I always give the standard answer;
“Do not ask what the club can do for you; ask what you can do for the club.”
There are far too many individuals in this lovely country of ours that would rather sit in the background and moan about the committee or the lack of events to attend, be it this club or any other for that matter. Get off your arses and get involved, even if it is just suggesting a place to run out to a local hostelry, you’ll be surprised how many people are just sitting around waiting for someone to make a suggestion. If not keep your hard earned money and use it for fuel, clubs don’t need another non active member. While I am not a member of the committee, nor intend to be (work commitments) they are always the unsung heroes of any club and deserve free membership and a free bar tab at the national rally!
As for benefits, I have made a few cyber friends on the forum and have learnt a few tricks too. While I’m not bothered about “harleyquin” (although I have known guys join clubs, just for the magazines) I do find the forum very useful, after all it is 2007 not 1987 and times, they are changing

. Is that worth the membership fee? Ask me when it comes to renew in December, if I pay, then the answer is yes. If I don’t, then obviously not. One thing is for sure, it will be down to me, and not any failing of the club, or any club for that matter.
I’ll get of my soap box now, apologies to all, if I have upset you, but that’s life!!
