| Re: Inner Primary Bearing Failure
Peter
I have talked myself into doing my IPB. Especially with the August Denmark Rally and imminent high mileage looming.
Just been looking through my service manual (2006 fxbdi like yours ;-)) and have a couple of questions.
The IPB is the bearing in the crankcase??
Did you only replace this and the lip seal or the clutch bearing as well?
Did you replace the seals on the inner primary case bolts or did the tool you borrowed of the club to get the inner races in and out mean you only needed to remove the outer primary and clutch?
Apart from the inner race remover, did you need any other tools (ie the clutch locking tool)? Can you remember the size of the nut in the middle of the clutch?
Any tips on things to look out for, other things to replace while your in there or amount of time this may take much appreciated
Cheers, Roy
