It was the H-D instructions that came with the kit that made me delay moving the indicators and fitting the bags. When I came to do it I attempted to follow them but ended up just using the diagrams as they are pretty incomprehensible.

You only have to loosen the upper bolts on the shocks to allow the chrome cover to be removed. The whole job can be done with the bike on the sidestand.

If saddlebag supports are fitted, they are usually retained by the top shocker bolt at one end. Be wary if you buy these s-hand on ebay, as longer fitting bolts are needed (got mine from Jersey). Fitting these mean you have to remove said bolts. Only do one side at a time so the poor thing does not sink to its knees.

Make sure that you have the correct tools though, as frustration, grazed knuckles and damaged fittings will surely result!
