What others have said. Remove the drain tube, remove the filter. Pour some oil into the filter, about 1/3 to 1/2 full . Lube the rubber ring. Replace filter. Replace the drain tube when fully drained. Refill with oil about 1/2 way up the dipstick, run the engine, check the oil light goes out. Check for leaks. Recheck the dipstick.
If you spill oil, cat litter is not bad for soaking it up.
