The problem with Drag/straight pipes is that they are not tunable for a strong low and midrange. They are called drag pipes for a reason; they have a very narrow and peaky powerband and really aren't suitable for a good running street bike. Yes, they can be made to run a little better with cones or whatever but not as good as a well tuned exhaust.

Many of the aftermarket pipes (by no means all) are not designed or tuned for max performance, rather huge compromises are made in the name of style. You can read between the lines to get what I'm saying."

T.I.C. Don't take my word for it buy them put them on, I'm sure your Sportster will run really well, because all peformance bikes today have this style of exhaust on
