Delphi EFI if tuned correctly is smooth as glass. That is a tuning problem.

Correct & corrrect Andrew.

The Idle has to be above 850rpm with Delphi Injection though as at lower speeds the alternator does not produce enough amps to sufficiently power up the fuel pump & ECM. It doesn`t allow itself to be lowered further as a safeguard.
