As you say EFI works great on cars and a lot of bikes, but they are liquid cooled.
Harleys on the other hand being air cooled, in my opinion are always gonna have slightly insecure EFI, due to very variable engine temps and the narowband o2 sensors that restrict adjustment.
EFI needs constant engine temps to work 100% eficiently.

In my eyes a carb is more reliable, gets rid of aroung 10 pieces of elecrtonic witchcraft, performs as well as EFI and is easier to tune. And your motor runs far cooler.

I'm gonna convert this XR at the end of summer if the AMM-P3 ignition unit works with my bike (which the manufacturers recon it does)

Here is a challenge for you.....Find a EFI Harley engine with the same mods as a carburated Harley enging that puts out more power!
