Re: Trying to identify a silencer

The silencer came this morning. As usual fast service from J.W. Boon.

It's the same length as the one in the VLD picture, so the body will need shortening by about 9-10 inches. It's a good job I ordered a black one and not chrome. The inlet is also 1 5/8 not 1 3/4 so that needs modding as well.
I had a feeling it wasn't going to just drop on.

I'm glad I know a very nice man with a band saw and mig welder !

As a bit of an asisde, has anyone out there got a knackered 45/pan/knuck/BTSV/early shovel speedo ( or any parts ) they want to get rid of? I want one for parts.

My speedo works perfectly but the milometer bit doesn't. I had it apart and it seems the teeth on the gears between the drive and milometer are stripped. Not a big deal but I would like to get it working.
Thanks.

( I have wondered if it's worth taking it to a clockmaker to see if they can do anything with it )
