Re: 250cc Honda Six

Thanks hawkeye for providing a straight answer to a straight question buddy, as opposed to moving off subject.

To be honest, I envy people that grew up in that era, and even though you never got your hands on a Harley until later, I bet you still had a lot of fun!!!

Re: 250cc Honda Six

It's getting too political for me. I just love bikes and have particular affections for Greeves, Triumph and Harleys. If I could have afforded a Harley before 2010, I would have bought one. They are proper old bikes and fulfil the "classic" bike in me. Love to chug around and enjoy the world anf the people.

Anything with two wheels fascinates me. The kind of bike that I'd love to own would be a 45 Harley or a 40's Brough Superior. Big V twins are special and the Harley is probably the best. I love the social side, the engineering and the lack of speed. At last, after all my life of riding bikes I can create my own bike from the millions of Harley parts. We spent about £3K on ours, mainly on suspension, lights, mufflers, seat, Hypercharger, raked forks, fork brace, classic tyres to suit the sidecar, Screen, wide bars, etc etc ... Big Loud Bertha was born.

There's almost no other bike that you can personalise so easily. I love our Harley but still have great respect and interest in many other bikes.

A biker at heart with a big love of Harleys. One day I'll get a 2003 Road King, better start saving ....

My other bike is a 84 Honda CBX750FE in bits being "restored". And a Viking race bicycle.

I rust my case :-)

It was easier then no electronics for a start, i know they let us have better running engines but i feel we have lost something. They are also a royal pain to try and sort out, not to mention the expense of replacment.
There are many ‘era’s, my father had a sloper Panther what a monster that was, but i also had an M21 side valve (another monster), it fired at every lampost in top and would pull a house down. But i dont miss it.

I think we all like bikes at heart but prefer to ride one particular type HD. I had to wait till 2003 to get my first Harley, two divorces cramped the money flow quite severley.
I always hankered after a Honda 750-4 but wound up with the 900-4, what a pain. They did not do for me what they did in the 70’s so it went.
I still dont have that much to spend as im saving for retirement in 18months.
I like all bikes really, i will always look around when i hear one especially when it sounds good, now we are back to the Honda6 lol
