Might be a good idea to drip feed them down to him as he is not yet able to hold a book or magazine. I know he is already accummulating a small library by his bed, will soon be able to start a lending service for the ward

Diana reported that he was feeling a little better later on in the afternoon and had a couple of visitors. I'm going back on Tuesday afternoon.

Re: Hamish down

I went to see Hamish today. He seemed in good spirits considering what he has been through. I think he may now have cracked ribs as well now as I made him laugh so much
Anyone visiting him, he is now on ward L5 bed 12. Visiting hours are different - they are 14.00 to 20.00. Thats 2pm to 8pm Baff

Re: Hamish down

Hi All
This is Diana, on Hamish's request posting as L5 ward may be high tech but has no wireless internet access and so I cannot perform my usual PA duties with him dictating by the bedside.
Yesterday was the best day so far, he was in good spirits when I got there after Fobys visit...thanks mate you really cheered him up!
The ankle skin graft (he underwent 6 hours op last Wed) seems so far so good, which is excellent news he's been through enough already without having to endure more operations!

They even took away his dear friend Morphine and he is doing great without the click...click...click...

The Mutchie book Carl left him is the best size for single hand holding so after administering my usual wifely duties I left him quite happy finally able to concentrate on something without drifting off to the fairy land of clicks

I am keeping fingers crossed this is the end of the ops and beginning of recovery period. I will print your latest posts to show him, Me & our boys (Ian & Emilio) will be there this afternoon.

Sorry to disappoint you but the beard trimming session you were planning is sadly not to be...yesterday he got hold of the beard trimmer and one handedly got rid of the Santa look!! It is back to normal but still getting my way with the funky hairstyles!

Thanks Whiskey for feeding kids, and all the running around in Chatteris.
HUGE THANK YOU to all who visited, called and posted, it helps enormously and more than you realise.

Once he's back home & able to sit would you consider having one of the monthly meets at our place in Chatteris (or an extra session)...I will provide food and beer and I reckon I can squeeze 40+ bikers in my kitchen/diner!

Keep you posted. thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!! !!
MUCHISIMAS GRACIAS.

Re: Hamish down

Been to see the big fella today, seems a lot happier and has of all the needles that were stuck in his arm removed. Has moved sideways to bay C with a window view.
If you are going down, please make sure you are well as there is a lot of the winter vomiting sickness around and they don't want any more of it in the hospital. Will post a picture tomorrow when I have more time.

Whiskey.

Visitors required.

Went into Cambridge today to see Hamish. Used it as an excuse to get on the bike. I mean, who in their right mind would want to take a car to Addenbrookes?

Diana's had some very bad family news from home, so she's jetting off to Argentina on Tuesday (9th), and won't be back in the UK until the following Thursday (18th).

Hamish would really appreciate some visitors, particularly over those nine days. After nearly three weeks, he's going stir crazy. Visiting hours are 2pm to 8pm. He's on Ward L5, bed 12C. Hamish Robertson.

Good news though: Hamish was on his feet yesterday. Only for a few seconds, but upright. They've left him a wheelchair, with a "Harley Dudes have more fun" sticker, or something like it, on it. They should've removed his catheter by now. This means that if anyone can get to see him, he'll be able to get out of bed, with help, and mosey off down to the concourse. Because of his broken wrist, he's unable to move the wheelchair under his own power, so pushers are needed.

As a bonus, he's got tons of chocolate, so visitors can help him avoid putting on weight by consuming it for him. I'm sure he'd appreciate any help. He's also got a load of BSHs and AWOLs to read, so you don't even have to talk to him.

If determination alone meant he'd be out of hospital for Christmas, then he'd probably even be riding by then. As it is, I doubt he'll be out, but it's just possible.

Baff

Re: Hamish down

Went to see Hamish yesterday and he is making a superb recovery and he has his own Harley FXWC wheelchair to get around the wards in.
