aah Lowestoft, I remember riding from Sudbury to Lowestoft on one of the coldest days of 78, me running in my 78 Bonnie and me mate on his just rebuilt Trident (i helped him a bit). One of the coldest rides i can remember and why...because there was a Harley Davidson Dealer there, old guy with a small shop, loads of shiney stuff AND a green Sporster. We froze that day but after thawing out back at the Chrissie is Sudbury (our local) all we could talk about was that bike and whether we could actually afford it. I still get a lump in my throat when I see one of those old AMF Sportsters, but it would be another 28 years before i ever owned a Harley

Sudbury? Just how old are you, Marcus? My wife's from Sudbury & went to the Upper School. She's 48 later this year.

yea not bad at times..and bloody awful at others, but I am pretty sure i do a lot more miles then i did then. Something to do with bike realiability, distinct lack of oil leaks etc.
Beer seemed a lot cheaper though, or was it that i needed so much less to get off me face (I think I weighed about 9 stone then)
