Surprise 50th Birthday party/meeting

Especially Flossie for remembering from February-time that I'd suggested she organise a surprise 50th birthday 'event' for me (and Bob the Gob). After Bob emigrated, I thought any possibility of it had died a natural death. I was completly fooled - no easy thing for you lot of numpties to pull off.

That so many people turned up, and no one had spilled the beans aforehand, was a testimony to how nice I am, and how much of a warm feeling you all have hanging around with me.

Thanks to everybody who showed up, even those few who thought it was really a meeting to settle Nick in as temp. regional rep. Even Nick thought that was why there were so many people in the room - twit.

Big thanks go to those that put in more than a few miles in to be there for the one night, namely Wormy, P, Ken, John, Dave, Dom and the Easterners and their partners.

Flossie arranged the whole thing, including colluding with my wife, Julie, to get a few of my other friends along. They too were impressed with the Anglians (and the non-Anglian Anglians), to such an extent that my 18 year-old daughter, Grace, now wants to come to a rally with us. That'll make me easily the most popular person on site.

The tankard was a great idea, and I'm already thinking of forgetting to carry a tent in future (as it rarely goes up anyway) to make way for it at rallies.

I haven't opened any of the cards, etc, as I'm not officially 50 until Wednesday, but more thanks to everyone that handed them over, and for the dosh given me via Flossie towards a pressie. I'm going to have to think hard for something appropriate to do the thought involved in giving me any cash at all some justice.

Once again, THANKS. You've warmed the cockles of my heart. I really can't think of a nicer bunch of people to ride around with (with the exception of Tealess - I can't stand him). If next year is as good as this one's been, I'll be a very lucky man with some fantastic mates.

I thought of an idea for you to spend the cash, a nose job (well strips from the chemist) that way if you want to keep your friends especially Eric this may cure the snoring, if the stips don't work I suggest you by a portable table instead of the tent as you never snored whilst sleeping on the table at Attleborough.

what a fantastic weekend i have just had,firstly can i thank flossy&tealess for their hospitality friday night and what an excellent surprise party it was,then a quick blat down to briton, wich was brill, to stay at graham&wormys and be treated like royalty thanks guys.baff that was the first time and the last i will sleep in the same room as you, but eaven that is a small price to pay for the laugh we have.

the meeting went well i think, nick dj did a good job at talking to the wall,hes a natural, even though i didnt agree with some of his plans to "reshape" if you will, the powers of free speech,

I'm glad you had a good one Baff. I had every intention of being there on Friday, but something unexpected cropped up at home and I couldn't make it. I did however let Foby and Tealess know I wasn't coming.
