Federation Rally in Ireland - July 3rd -6th

After posting about the horseshoe rally a short while ago, our own erstwhile Oirish fecker called me to confirm that there will, indeed, be a Federation rally in Eire on the 1st-4th July, and that he not only intends going, but will if necessary learn how to go slow enough to lead a bunch of us reprobates over the Oirish Sea to Oirishland for a weekend of drunken Guiness-fueled debauchery.

Probably going to catch a ferry out of Pembroke on the Thursday, after a non-motorway blat across country, but all details to be confirmed in the next few months. (Edit 02/11/09) Irish Ferries have confirmed a price of £40 per bike, return, leaving Thursday 1st, returning Sunday 4th. Haven't got times for the ferries yet though.

Knowing Eric, we may end up in Spain instead, but hey, wtf, it'll be fun.

Those who've expressed an interest so far:

Baff
Eric
Tony
Wormy
Mr P
Kimbo
Maff (almost def subject to getting a pass from 'er indoors)

Re: Federation Rally in Ireland - July 3rd -6th

Great rally, often a shambles but always magic. Didn't go this year and missed not going. Good camping on the Stradbally Gaelic Athletic Club ground and very friendly pubs in the village (good singalong in the pubs of an evening).
Music in the Clubhouse varied from early evening diddly diddly to some good bands later. Great craic. Lotsa Riders Club members go to this rally (cos they know a goodun).
And the rideout can be a real scream

Re: Federation Rally in Ireland - July Thursday 1st - Sunday 4th

Received this email today, from Paudie, the Pres. of the Harley-Davidson Club Ireland

Hi Baff
Paudie here from HDCI it would be great if a few of you guys were able to come and meet us next year. We have our rally on in the same location and date every year it's held in the G.A.C ground's in Stradbally Co Waterford and on the 1st weekend in july which is 2nd/3rd 2010 you can use the map on our web site to find us by clicking on ANNUAL RALLY and then STRADBALLY CO WATERFORD.we can arrange accommadation if you like. I hope this info will help.

That doesn't interfere with any of the other rallies I've got down for July, so the run to Ireland is ON!

Hope some of you other guys will want to come. I'll get some ferry prices & post them here, and take them to a few meetings around the region for those that don't use the interweb thingy. Probably go out on the Thursday, and back on the Sunday, possibly Monday.

Ferry Prices for Fed Rally in Ireland - July 1st - 4th

Had a reply from Irish Ferries regarding prices for 10+ bikes going Pembroke - Rosslare on Thursday 1st July, returning same route on Sunday 4th.

£40 return

Yup, only £40 return per bike. I think that's an amazingly good price. I'll post these details onto the first post too.
