Excellent riding

Hi all,

Clocked up 550mls now on the Dyna super Glide Custom, and what an excellent experience. Last cuple of weeks have done the local scenes as getting used to Bikes again, 20 odd yrs away from riding and how things have changed. Feel like next year big ride is needed, or am i just being keen, naww bollocks ill just do it. Is there any boby else out there who has just restarted and feels the same way?. I have noticed the roads are in dis recline to put it nicely, a lot different from what i remember. .a good week with the weather havnt we, makes all the difference when you'r just startin out.

Has anyone else got the VandH with stage 1 on a DC and can post some Horse Power and top speed's. As it seems that the needle on mine dosn't go round far enogh....WOW

Here is to some good weather over the weekend, if not ive got some serious Beach fishing and pub raffles to contend with

See ya Andy

after a bit of an accident on a gsx1400 i decided to go down the harley road,i was lucky enough to come across this web site about a year ago and havent looked back ,and in my 12 months with this club ive clocked up over 10k and loved every minuate of it,the meet ups ,the rallys, and the general comeradery between the riders is second to none as you will find out in the riding season,my bike same as yours but ive got stage1 screaming eagles wich is more than enough for me, allthough my top speed was 111mph one day on a quiet motorway,..the weather dosent normally bother me but im scrubbing in some avon venoms at the mo and they are a bit shiney so its tippy toes time,no riding for me at the moment im lying here in bed with a cold

Ey-Up Andy,
I too am new to the Forum and have decided to return to two wheels after a break 'but not quite as long as you though'
I have ridden bikes for the last 30 odd years starting with a Yamaha FS1E when I was 16 then following on after passing my bike test to a self built Triton, various sports bikes and tourers and now want to fulfill a long time dream of owning and riding my own HD. I too have decided on the same model as you in a Dyna Super Glide Custom but, you are one step infront of me as you already have yours and I am still waiting I hope to purchase anytime between now and the new year as soon as the right bike presents itself I have been to a couple of monthly meets at the Triple Plea (Halesworth) and they are a great bunch of guys who put themselves out to make you feel welcome
Any ways hope to meet up with you some time/some where in the region and hopefully have a ride out or three.

See Ya Mike.

Re: Excellent riding

glad to see i am not the only one who has just this summer rejoined the biking fraternity. been away since i got married 21 years ago. started on a fizzy then.rd200,cb250,z400,cb500t [yes i know],gt380 and cb750k.now got a sportster 1200 that vibrates like hell and i love it.have noticed many boy racers on their clones dont wave back like we used to.oh well. but all is not lost, i managed to run out of petrol while on a weekend break last month and a lady biker on a bmw adventurer ran me to a petrol station [unfortunately didnt fulfill any fantasy].thanks to her.owning a harley has introduced me to a whole new experience, total strangers come up to admire it [never got that on a jap bike ]. now hoping to ride down to southern spain on it next year .am i mad or is this normal behaviour for a harley owner ?
