Re: "Out in the Suffolk Sticks" weekender 8-10 June

Sounds good to me, will bring it up at next region meet but will probably be too close to Bute for some.
Good luck,
Fuz

Re: "Out in the Suffolk Sticks" weekender 8-10 June

Date: I got a list of the least busy weekends from the now 60 year old Baza, the other three of which were August. Went to the pub armed with the dates, to be told the only weekend they have free is the June one.

I'd have prefered an August date myself. Anyway, yup, it's close to Bute, too close really, but I didn't have a lot of options.

I really want to try putting on a weekender at this pub, cos it's a great location (far from the madding crowd), close to my home (so's I can deal with emergencies/urgent needs if needs be), cos of the real ales they brew & guest, and cos of the camping facilities/marquee area they'll throw up. They're used to having bands (a blues night every month plus bands regularly) and hold 4 beer festivals which alwys do well.

I haven't confirmed anything with 'em yet, but I've said that, depending on the levels of interest, I'll get back to confirm or scrape the idea by the first weekend in March.

Damn it. I really thought I'd got a weekend where peeps would be free, and hopefully willing, to come over.

A prerequisite was that I had to be around, so the mid June weekend was out. You didn't gimme the September dates, you plonker. Anyway, they're too late, I like to keep September free.

Great idea, location, and opportunity to abuse my CAMRA card. Unfortunately, I'll be working away that weekend.

Re: "Out in the Suffolk Sticks" weekender 8-10 June

The consensus seems to be (albeit after only a few hours) that it's the right place at the wrong time. More peeps can't make it than can. I'll give her a bell to see if there's anyway we can get an August date. These are: 10-12th, 17-19th and 31st August-2nd Sep. She's already said no, but if I could get 100 or more there, she might be persuaded to change her mind.
