We're sticking to the main roads and then joining the ferry at the ferrry-port John!

As the weather will be great A75 at Gretna then as above. In the unlikely event of rain stay on the A/M74 to Glasgow then M8 for the airport and just keep going to Wemyss bay and the ferry.

Red face Re: the best route to Bute??

Been up the the Islander MCC, Island Invasion rally a couple of times. That route sounds pretty much the way I went and it was great, a lovely cruise through good countryside up to Wemyss Bay for the ferry.
A mate of mine got there and missed the ferry and went home in a strop! Back to Luton! Bute a cracking place for a rally. Wish I was doing this one now.

Re: the best route to Bute??

Dead easy , M6 for most of you automatically runs into the A74M , despite the signs for glasgow M8 continue on the M74 till it automatically joins / merges into the M8 west , continue on the M8 till it ends at Greenock, this is where you will pick up the signs for Weymms Bay , you really cant miss the ferry terminal in the one horse town that is Weymms Bay. See you all next week .
