When I first visited Scotland in the early 1970's most places would not accept them. The claim was that the banks charged as they had to send them back. By the 1980's there was no problem. Perhaps it was an ENP supporter kean on seperation Stuarty.

In which case you'll definitely have to change your groats for sterling.


Assuming we open the wall to let you in of course.

Just out of interest; don't think I've ever had a problem with getting a Scottish note accepted this side of the border. Never a problem the other way round of course,but then you'll be used to taking English money.
