Angry Road Rage

I wasn't a prolific poster before and I havent posted for 2 months and here is why and let it be a cautionary tale.
First some background, I suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and take meds to control the mood swings this brings about, so usually I am calm and easy going, but a few months ago I was ran off the road, when I caught up with and stopped the driver and remonstrated with them, I was very angry but didn't touch them it was all verbal. When I had said my piece I buggered off, pulled over into the next lay bye and calmed myself down.
A few months later I had a knock at the door and was arrested for 'Threatening behaviour', it went to Mags. court and I pleaded guilty, which I was.
After 15 mins deliberation, the Mags came out and I was sentenced to 16 weeks inside
Well I have done 8 weeks and have been released and have 'paid my debt'

I realise you are only hearing my side of the story, but the reason I am telling you is, if you have road rage, try and calm down, the courts are coming down very hard on this.
Bill.

Oh and I got 6 months Ban as well, arse.

Re: Road Rage

Mate, like Dan I am saddened to hear this, sounds like a situation where many of us could have joined you. Lousy inconsiderate driving is one of the things that gets me going and I'm not normally hot-tempered at all.

The ban is a double bummer as well!

Anyhow, glad you are now back amongst those who hopefully aren't too quick to judge.

Re: Road Rage

Another instance of the English courts bagging the bird in the hand and giving up on the two in a bush.

And they let those who look at Kiddy Porn walk the streets.

Re: Road Rage

Tough luck mate, seems like you got a really raw deal on this.
Its a sad world when you can't tell someone your thoughts without getting punished for it.
makes you think. Thanks for the warning

Re: Road Rage

Whatever anyone says all of us have been in the position where our tempers are pushed to the limit. Unfortunately you paid the heavy price for that moment of madness.

The next few weeks are going to be as testing, if not more so than the last few, trust me, just hang in there man,- now’s the time to start afresh.

Re: Road Rage

Bloody hell mate! Looks like most of us have been in that situation I hope I will learn from it at your expense. Hope things are ok for you at home with your family.

Can't believe it what with the prisons being overcrowded and it was his word against yours. Even if he had witnesses in the car they should not count. Were ther others that reported you from your number plate?

Re: Road Rage

I was reported by a off duty copper 3 cars back, and that's it. But as I am basically a honest person (OK the road tax 'runs out' sometimes) I went guilty as I was.
When I was sent down there was a lot of debate as to what prison to send me to as they were full, I was in Truro Mags and the nearest prisons (Exeter and Dartmoor) were full, so the first night was spent in Launceston Custody Suite (basically a police station) then on to Exeter.
I cannot recommend going to prison as the food wasn't very nice and it stunk, I mean over a 1000 blokes in one smallish place! euuggghh

Re: Road Rage

Ironic the off duty copper only saw the "rage" bit,and no-one saw what caused it.We are all capable of having the right button pressed.
At least your here to tell the tale
