my 1st Harley

this is the bike that got stolen from my garage in 2002, a 1997 fatboy,i bought it in 2000 in std trim, spent hours upon hours sanding , polishing & painting just to have some thieving baztard take it away, i was absolutely gutted, having a bike nicked certainly makes you more wary of people.

Nice looking fatboy bridlad

Fatboybass got his fatboy nicked from his garage last year too. Bastids even took the tiles off his garage roof so they could drop down & disconnect the motor for the garage door

Re: my 1st Harley

I've never lost a bike myself but a few of my mates have (2 on rallies). I know how much it affected them, always looking at others thinking "was it you who knicked my bike?"
It's not just a bit of metal, but to many it's a good chunk of life thats stolen.- That aint right.

Re: my 1st Harley

ive never had a bike knicked either, but ive woke up plenty of times over the yrs and flew to the window jist to make sure she was still there, yeah yer bike is a personel thing, and woe betide any ferker caught ferkin about with it,and ive got into plenty of heavy arguements just by folk putting their kids on it, if they ask no bother, but dont just take it for granted,

Re: my 1st Harley

Scum of the earth the reality is most bike thieves are bikers themselves.

But lets not go down that road.....Nice to catch one or two in the right circumstances. Spicey had a great storey a few months ago about some mate of his on the scaffolding who saw a couple of blokes nicking a bike so they slid down and cabled tied them to the scaffolding until plod arrived.

Bad luck Bridlad glad you got back with the H-D scene.

Re: my 1st Harley

Mate of mine had his Fatboy nicked a few years back, when he got his new 'un (the insurance paid out) a few of us went to his place, pue 3mm steel on each side of the garage doors, bolted through, welded the nuts to the bolts, ground the bolt heads round so they cant be moved, welded on hasps and staples with close fitting padlocks, but his best peace of mind was a baby listener in the garage and the other end in the house, he could hear a mouse fart in there.
But it is gutting, I have gone to some odd lengths with my shovelhead, even to the point of not going home when I think I am being followed.
