Oblivious

The funny thing about going to a rally is you disappear for several days and are totally oblivious to the whats happening anywhere else .

Good innit.

The only news you get is from riders coming in from elsewhere, apparently elsewhere was pretty damp, infact it seemed everywhere within a 25 mile radius of the Triple was a monsoon .
Lets face it though, if you run out of Harveys bitter on a Friday night it does tend to bring tall stories about, it p!ssing it down, into perspective.
But...I was totally amazed to get back on Sunday and hear about all the flooding .

Now it wasn't that we weren't effected by the weather .
Simon, on the strength of a clash with the Sportster Rally and Severe Weather Warnings for the South, mentioned to our beer serving host at the Triple that there would be less people attending and so.....we probably wouldn't require so much Harveys Bitter this year .

220 people came through the gate.

Re: Oblivious

Thursday was set up day for the Rally down in Eastbourne and we were all in need of liquid refreshment cos we had been lugging about, setting up tents, the gate and what have you in bright sunshine at about 23C.
We were awaiting the storm front to hit us in the evening on the basis of the Severe weather warning.
We did manage to pull in our usual Thursday Ethnic Food Night ,with record deliveries of Chinese and Indian before we had any indication that the storm front was moving in.

Then as the sun was going down the clouds started moving in.

In the early hours of Friday morning the heavens opened, and we had a wonderful ground shaking thunder and lightning show from the relative comfort of our sleeping bags.
It was disappointing to find it still raining on the Friday morning, but by the midday official opening time the rain had stopped and things were drying out pretty well.

Saturday was luverly with only a quick shower just before the rideout.

They had a dry rideout to the Newhaven Fort.

Mr Walls turned up.

People frollicked about in the sunshine.

and after an overnight shower the Sunday morning was nice and dry to pack up and go home.
