We’re back from Canada!

Well, the holiday flew by and now it’s back to normality!

Had a fantastic time travelling over the Rockies – the scenery was breathtaking and we saw loads of wildlife, including grizzly bears, black bears, moose, elk and bald eagles. Then it was down to Vancouver for a week in a great city!




Everywhere we went people were really friendly and relaxed, hotels were all great, only downside was that wine was expensive!

We travelled on planes, trains, automobiles, boats, floatplanes and, of course, a Harley, which Steve had arranged through the fly-ride scheme – 50 quid a day for an Electraglide Classic with unlimited mileage, so we made the most of that.




Even had a K8 number plate for me like to my own bike at home:




It was also hot, hot hot! Up to 38C when we rode up to Whistler on the Sea to Sky Highway. Fantastic views all the way.

Having always said I’d never ride without a proper jacket, I had to keep to just a long sleeve t-shirt as it was impossible to wear a jacket at those temperatures when going along at fairly low speeds.




It was fabulous riding through the national parks on the Harley, although a little scary when we saw a very large and slightly angry looking black bear right near the side of the road – time to move along swiftly for him and us!




This was my first trip to Canada and I would definitely recommend it for the outstanding natural beauty and laid back atmosphere.

Now it’s back home and, yes, it’s still raining, just like it was for 2 months before we left …

PS Even managed to sneak a ride on the Electraglide myself – surprisingly easy to ride and all that luggage space is a girly’s dream – won’t be swopping in my Deluxe though!
