Can't wait till friday, cause I'm fuming.

Guy fawkes was a catholic who tried to blow up a protestant government, and we celebrate the event every year by burning his effigy.

Now if it was a non-christian effigy we were burning each year, would we still be celebrating on bonfire night.

York the birth town of Guy Fawkes has banned a firework display on Nov 5th because of health and safety, Eid and Diwali fireworks can go ahead but not Guy fawkes night.

According to the Coronation Oath Act, 1953, section IV, the Queen swore ‘to govern the peoples of the United Kingdom according to their laws and customs’ and ‘to maintain the Protestant Reformed religion established by law.

Just found this while trawling around and it seems like we are not getting our moneys worth from old Betty Battenburg.

heres one for the pc brigade, why dont we burn a few .....(insert ethinc minority of choice here).... on nov 5 in protest at the way our country is being turned into a shambles where any man and his dog can come to make a living off the state and not give anything back, and then make us feel like a minority in our own country!!!

note: this may or may not be my own personal view, just another option to debate!

I have just been down the local, had a few pints and a nice slap up meal. The barmaid and the waitress were both Eastern European and they did a bloody good job of looking after me and the missus, helpful, friendly and efficient- no problems with them whatsoever.

But wot I'm trying to say is that it ain't the ethnic minorities, immigrants or imported workers that are causing the problem- it really is caused by the lame minded left wing of our own nation that is doing the main damage, policy makers and decision makers of the loony left have decided that to change and effect society they have no chance if they try to get elected as politicians representing the Socialist Workers Party, Militant Tendency etc.

They realise that the British public are too smart for a direct assault but they have changed tactic and decided to get a job for life in the Council/BBC/Quango- and the irony is that we end up paying for them to sit on their fat arses.
