Legalise cannabis petition

For those of you fed up with cannabis legislation creating a criminal underclass, with the legislation not only doing nothing to stop young people getting hold of the stuff over the years but also making it near impossible for them to get anything but unhealthy cut mixes of it, with legislation making it impossible for people who need it for medical help to get any without risking court, with court and police time being wasted, with our money being wasted on the whole show.... then there's a slightly silly Number 10 petition to get it legalised which you might want to sign up to try and wake up our delightful government. I thought it worthwhile anyhow.

The benefits of legalising cannabis are as follows:
The Government would be able to control potency of cannabis available and amount sold to each individual. Money made from tax would cover any medical treatment needed by users. Users would not come into contact with drug dealers, therefore there is less chance of them coming into contact with harder drugs. Will decrease the crime rate if cannabus is readily available. It will eliminate the need of an underground subculture

And, DD, the fact that we can debate this IS great PR for the club.

If this country had refused to discuss things because of fear about what others would think or say, it would be a lot less of a fine place to live.

I'm not going to zip my lips because of a bunch of fearsome, vote-chasing, legislation-heavy, uninformed politicians.....

I tried it once, but I didn't inhale...

I'd sign, but my sig wouldn't be worth squat, as I'm not from the UK.

But I agree, though I don't partake of cannabis, I feel that's it's legalization, along with the ages old profession of prostitution, should be (once again, as it was in the past) legalized. Takes a HUGE chunk of money and power out of the hands of the criminal element. And sets up a chance to tax the product (either one of them).

They did finally legalize medical cannabis here in the States, but it's a shaky situation depending on WHAT state you're in.
