I understand the powers that be are trying to stop this/these Petition/s. So we have to assume its working .........:-)

Now 224,583 signatures, and rising! and no wonder without the tax I understand petrol would be 35p ish a ltr.

Signed it today but not hopeful of them doing anything, we should do what the French do and bring the country to it's knees for a couple of days.........being British, it'll never happen

From 101.10.2007 the fuel (petrol and diesel) duty rate in the UK is £0.5035 per litre. VAT, currently at 17.5%, is also charged on the price of the fuel and on the duty. At a pump price of 128.8p/litre, this would put the combined tax at 69.53p/litre. Thus without tax, the retail price would be 59.26p per litre, making a combined tax rate of 117%
- How the f**k we can be taxed on taxes is way beyond me,- So f**k 'em.

paranoia i'm afraid, worked ok for me a few mins ago
personally I'm sure the govt would like to be seen to lower the fuel prices, because its a big enough issue to ensure they are kicked out next election, and however stupid they are, they wont want that, otherwise the MP's wouldnt be able to afford to put their "secretaries" up in posh penthouse flats and shag them sensless, while the country believes they are working for the good of this country
