Military Service

Having worked with the MOD for 22 years (it is only a stop gap till I find something I want to do!! ) I have met loads of military peeps and lived and worked with them.

Seems to me there is many a user of this board who has a military background and served in the Forces.

As a matter of interest which unit did you serve with? Come on, all you old soldiers, sailors and airmen dont be shy!

23 years service, 1981 - 2004. 12 years with the 2nd Bn The Parachute Regiment.
Then working with all Armd Inf Bn's. Spending 11 years in Germany, Bergan Hohne, Werl, Paderborn.
Wish i was still in i can not work with non service people !!

Give em a chance mate, most civvies have no comprehension of comradeship, adventure or the stomache wrenching andrenlin fueled buzz we have endured under certain circumstances, sick with fear and punched up to fcuk to get going... Because they have not experienced or cannot even visualise what its like to see action in whatever theatre, whether its whorehouse or desert, they consider us bores, because we have been there either got the tee shirt or sand bagged it.

They think we are all fcuking Sgt Rock... all fantasy....

Thats were clubs like our and the Patriots and All Arms Veterans Motorcycle Clubs come into their own, we become part of another similar ethos of comradeship and a sense of belonging

Even now I look at my 'superiors' at work and heaven knows whats stops me from planting one....

But... the moneys good....
