Best ever rally

I have started this but will have to give it some real thought myself. I have done lots and each one has its own special memories. My father inlaw used to ride all over europe with me to rallies at the drop of a hat but sadly he has gone on a head RIP Jack. So I will give it some thought and post mine later.

Re: Best ever rally

I think mine has to be the 10th Kent, because it was the first big one I'd been too and was very much in awe of the lasers, the bands were good and the atmosphere and whole thing in general was so good.
Have attented loads of little rallys over the years and each one has its special memories.

Re: Best ever rally

I have extremely fond memories of the HOG Rally in Lloret de Mar - I think everyone that went really enjoyed it and it was the only HOG Rally (except maybe the first Faaker See) where it didn't seem to be totally controlled and with any spontaneity....

Then again... the first Talgarth we went to (where we met a young and hairy Baza for the first time!) felt a bit like being a home

then there is the 'Devon always a fine Rally plenty of mates and able to repay some of the 'hostility' we receive from others....

I dunno apart from that....

Re: Best ever rally

How the hell do you choose the best one
There are so many over so long and many special in different ways. Back in the day I loved doing our own rallies, hard work but always worth it.
The Devils Weald Rally in Brighton was always a must do; got smashed out of my brain most times and ended up baying at the moon
TWITS' Rally 1977, feckin' cold or what!! -14 degrees, in a bloody field, shitty little tent and a foam sleeping bag. Hell of a ride there, partied with me mates and crashed on ice on the ride home .... Magic weekend
Jets Rally in Belgium was a mindbender, but no body got seriously hurt. In fact I've enjoyed a few rallies in Belgium, although I do remember feeling a bit concerned when having a machine pistol pointed at me on one occasion
Talgarth International 2004. Soaked getting there, cold all bloody weekend, an out of body experience and put a mate in hospital in a roundabout sorta way .... Yep, that was a good one wannit

No, can't choose one as the best .... with luck that's still to come innit.. .................

Re: Best ever rally

as the original thread does not state whether it has to be a harley only rally .

it was a very close run thing between the "kent custom bike show" in 1981 when it was still at the a20 cafe at harrietsham and was still a small low key event and had a really good friendly party feel to it.

but on reflection it has to be................

"devils weald " rally brighton in 1982, went on my harley chop had ferkin good weekend.

saw some really tasty, radical swedish choppers for the first time

good rally games of which the club i was in at the time won a few

(tug of war with an anchor man weighing 26 stone helps)

gales ales at the bar

"rockin bill" disco i seem to remember?

tasty birds in the "wet tee shirt" competition

bloody good ride ride out with police escorts through the town and up to the devils dyke.

a weekend of sex, drugs and rock and roll

what more could you ask for.

Re: Best ever rally

I'd forgotten about Crazy Daze.
As a trader we all treated it as an end of season party, no one really cared if they didnt make any money, we just enjoyed it and what a party it was, especially the year we had the hurricane. Anyone that was still there the day after had the best time ever. The most amazing atmosphere as we had 'survived the hurricane' lol
