Is it the wind?

I have had a lot of wind lately.....

well haven't we all and my freeview seems to have lost a load of stations!

I have retuned as 'initial set-up' twice and still I have a load of channels missing. Could this be a national problem after the severe winds we have had anyone else experienced a loss of freeview on some channels?

Re: Is it the wind?

Our region (North West) was told that we have to retune our freeview on the 4th November and again on the 2nd December to pick up the channels that drop out as they are moved around. This is part of the change over to digital transmission.
It could be that your region is doing the same thing but the dates are different.

Baza, are you sure its wind and not just hot air?

with regards to the freeview issue, we have noticed a marked difference in reception quality on a lot of channels, tried a retune ,which made ferk all difference

Re: Is it the wind?

Ever since the digital switchover we have been missing one channel or another. We recently lost all the BBC channels but ironically since the gales we have got them back again.
I it's what they call 'progress', at least with the old terrestial analogue channels once you had got them they stayed online

Re: Is it the wind?

We were told to re tune darn sarf a few weeks ago. Did that all good but just the last couple of days it's gone haywire.

I have just done some investigating and it could be water in the cable from the aerial fixing.

Still the suns out now so it may dry out!

Thanks.

Well living where we do our area ain't going digital till 2012. We might even get gas in the village soon. Then maybe a bus that runs more than twice a week.

If you ain't got sky or freeview up here then you can't even get channel 5. Not that we're missing much apparently.

If it's water in the cable it could knacker your box. Unscrew the aerial connectors from the back of the box and make sure there isn't any water running down inside the cable into the box.

Same situation on the Sarf Coast. Seems they won't pump Channel 5 our way in case it interferes withe the French TV.

So Sky it is
